Taking advantage of the massive explosion of Asian poker players, the tournament saw a nice sized field considering they were pitted against a World Series of Poker Europe schedule that cannibalized some of the field.PokerStars is the world’s largest online poker room, with more poker games at every level, bigger tournaments and more players than any other site.
The main event in Seoul was a no limit Texas Hold’em tournament with a buy in just shy of three thousand dollars. Day one saw 165 players ante up in hopes of taking home the first prize of nearly $130,000. Yoshihiro Tasaka, a player from Japan was one of six Japanese competitors to finish in the money at APPT Seoul. Tasaka had a fierce heads up battle at the final table with a fellow Japanese player Hidenari Shiono before finally knocking him out and taking home the first prize, the guy can still play some online poker i assume.

The Asia Pacific Poker Tour next moves to Auckland New Zealand where players will meet at the Skycity Casino from October 9th through the 12th to compete for over well over a half a million dollar prize pool. Players looking to enter an APPT event can do so by either qualifying through PokerStars satellite tournaments or by buying in directly up to two weeks before the event.
